I'm not familiar with Ben's work, but now I know. What an intriguing collection of stamps, each with its own amusing write-up. Some real characters commemorated by those stamps - could be a source of inspiration for any would-be designers. As a newbie I thought I'd start by looking at the oldest posts here first.
This thread is well worth a look to anyone (like me) who is considering making their own stamp issues, It is a total inspiration. What a great pity this designer i sno longer with us as I think he would be very very popular here now.
Thank you Bill Porter for putting up this link to his work and I am looking forward to the time when I can return the honour by presenting you with some of my stamps to print and perforate.
I'd like to also say thank-you to the people behind this forum, for providing the only place I know online where designers and collectors can come together to discuss their passions.
Best wishes to all the members here for 2012
