For Discworld Collectors

The stamps and Postal History of http://www.muba.eclipse.co.uk/The%20Discwor…/…/zlobenia.html" rel="nofollow - Zlobenia and Borogravia has just been adding to the Discworld Stamp Collector web-stages. "That's just three stamps!" Fear not, nothing could be further from the truth. There is enough material out there to make a nice little collection.

And

http://www.muba.eclipse.co.uk/Discworld%20Books%20and%20Stamps/index.html" rel="nofollow - Discworld Books and Stamps contains a synopsis of all the Discworld novels lavishly illustrated by the Discworld stamps and related material wherever possible. This latest update has incorporated as many of the 2016 issued stamps as possible, right up to the latest $1 AMPO stamps.

There have been two updates recently to http://www.muba.eclipse.co.uk/The%20Discworld%20Stamp%20Collector/index.html" rel="nofollow - The Discworld Stamp Collector web pages.
The stamps which were inspired by Pratchett's non-discworld novel Nation went up a few weeks ago. There are more than you might expect!
This week there is a biger feature on the stamps from Uberwald, which includes Bonk, bad Blintz and Muning. All that, and other stamps and ephemera with a Uberwald connection.

Meanwhile all the latest on https://www.facebook.com/DiscworldStampCollector/" rel="nofollow - Discworld Stamp Collecting on Facebook.

Thanks Steve.  It was interesting to see the Nation entry. The framed cover must be as rare as hens' teeth.  Have you ever seen one for sale?

Come down to the next Stampex (or similar) get-together, Keith, and I will bring it along for you to marvel at. Smile

Interesting that the cancellation, where it overlays the stamp, has been deliberately wiped away.

I have one somewhere Joolz.  If I thought it was worth money I'd dig it out and sell it.  I agree it is a marvel.

I have just put up an update for the http://www.muba.eclipse.co.uk/The%20Discworld%20Stamp%20Collector/" rel="nofollow - Discworld Stamp Collector on the net. Latest section is about stamps associated with the character Death, but have a root around on the menus, and you will find updates and oother new sections.

They have a link to a list of presently-available stamps.  Happy to trade any of these (plus the minisheets).

I have recently seen a few of the other Stamps Forums displaying links to cinderella stamps threads on their own forums - and there seems to be a good response from newly interested collectors when this happens...

If you belong to a stamp club which has a website or message board or Facebook/Twitter/Instagram page then why not advertise our forum, or put up a link to a thread you are interested in, or generally promote our tiny forum here.

I often think it's quiet here because we have a fairly specialised hobby but clearly there is a broader interest, particularly when non-collectors find stamps they cannot identify and which then turn out to be cinderellas - so why not take a moment to advertise us on other media and get a few new members to join up.

Spread the word, what's the worst that could happen?!

For anyone who is interested, I now have a (UK) Etsy shop selling stamps, sheets and other ephemera.

It's called 'Far-fetched Philately'.

With typical Edwards luck, its opening coincided with the Covid pandemic so it was promptly shut down after a couple of days - BUT it is spluttering back to life with a few listings you may have not seen before and the long-term threat of others to come...

A general search for Far-fetched Philately should find it but this link should also take you there...

http://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/FarFetchedPhilately" rel="nofollow - https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/FarFetchedPhilately

My hope is this will give me a permanent online presence that will allow people to collect at their leaisure rather than have to fit in with an ebay auction deadline. I hope to eventually have my own website with a 'proper' shop but in the meantime I hope this will do the trick.

Let me know what you think...

Hi All,

For those of you that are collecting / are interested in the many fantastic cinderellas produced by Mr. Gerald King (Gerry)…

My Gerald M. King Cinderella Collection can be found here:
Https://cinderellafan.com" rel="nofollow - Https://cinderellafan.com

It has, unfortunately, been “on hold” for some years now due to lack of spare time / too much work… but I hope to be able to find some time to add more interesting (and also some rare) items to the webpage in the near future.

There are already quite a lot of Gerald King items (cinderella stamps, proof, covers, etc.) to be found on the webpage… some of them quite rare… but I have sooooo many more items that I would love to share with the rest of you… hopefully soon…

Ps: If you get a warning about the page being unsafe when trying to load it then it is because the SSL file for the webpage must be updated… I am working on getting the issue fixed, but the page is absolutely safe to access…

Enjoy…

BR
