And we do mean ALL the proceeds. That's not the proceeds after all the costs have been taken out.

It occurs to me that many of us already have Pharos sheets sent to us each month by Hilary. Would it be possible to have the Earthquake sheet sent out with them to save on postage?

I'm not sure which will work best. The stamps are printed on Pharos, perfed in Somerset and guillotined in Yorkshire. So they'd have to be posted back to Hilary to save postage. I'm sure Hilary will tell me the right answer when she comes up for air. Anyway, in the meantime, to keep you all entertained, here is a scan of a colour trial of the sheet. The issued sheet will have slightly different wording. By the way, Charles' Paypal idea seems to be working and the fees appear to be a bit under 2%. But I don't get any details of the senders address! So can you all PM me once you've made your payments and tell me your postal address. Sorry. It's a pain - you'll have to blame Charles. ![]() Keith |

Ah, go on. You know you want to.
Japanese scholars will wince, but as best as I can judge it reads as Japan big water disaster. But my efforts at Japanese calligraphy have probably distorted its meaning, and for all I know it could say 'Go stick a fish in your ear'. |

.
. . . 日大きい水は生命を取った fairly freely translated reads, 'the day big water took lives.'
There are several similar characters to the slogan on Hilary's stamp. Near enough not to cause offence I would hope.
