Town crests are a popular subject for advert Cinderella stamps. This is probably a part set from L. V. Enders, an art publishing company, which was based in the cultural centre (Kunstenstadt) of Neutitschein - now Novy Jicin in Moravia, the eastern part of Czechia nowadays. Now this may place them as pre-WWI, when the area was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, hence the German names and typeface styles. Bund der Deutschen refers to the leagues of Germanic speaking peoples in central Europe at the time.
The crests are of Czech towns, therefore these were not intended for a German market, but their exact purpose is a bit of a mystery. Perhaps they were sold as a means of raising funds, and when used in conjuction with regular postage stamps acted as a bit of propaganda. Enders probably just underprinted their logo, as part of the printing process. They used quality paper, and the inks used have a glossy appearance wich gives the silver and gold a real metallic look.

In 1913, in Lower Austria (Neider Osterreich), fund raising Lieder Marken or Song stamps were issued, all at 2 Heller each. These come from a set of 30, one of each designn per sheet. I am missing two of them. Each illustration represents a song; some traditional, some romatic and some more military. It looks like the first verse is incorporated. There were 3 printings with different perforations, hues, and papers. These are a mix of the three. I don't want to complete all three printings, but a full set of one would be nice. Each stamp has the artist's name, EZEL, somewhere in the design. The four at the bottom appear to be overprinted 1 Krone, but I have no idea of why or when.
It is said that if someone sings one of these songs others will all join in, uniting German speaking people. It has to be remembered that these people were repressed under Napoleon, and then in 1848 came the Springtime for the People revolution, against the aristocrasies inspired by the French Revolution. These failed and once again leading to disillusionment.

A second set of 30 Song Stamps was issued in 1917. My collection is less complete fro these, but they follow in a very similar manner.

Another set, this time of 20 stamps, from the same period also included the musical score. So if you didn't know the tune, but could read music you could join in anyway. These were much larger, almost twice the size of the others shown above. The printing looks rather dodgy to me.

These stamps say Association of German speakers abroad, and show mainly castles from those areas. Some are quite hard to read, but you can see mention of Flanders, Riga and Lichtenstein. I am not a huge fan Of them. Tooo many look dour and drab. The black borders do not help. Nothing like the schloss which feature on the Riviera Rhien cruise advert.
