Here's another example from the Centenary Year 1940.

The Michigan Stamp Club celebrated their 26th Anniversary at the Book-Cadillac Hotel in Detroit.

I have 2 sheets, both shown, but there may be more and have not been able to find out up to now.

Wow...no activity since last May...we'll need to do something about that!

The third International Philatelic Exhibition held in the U.S. took place in New York City at the Grand Central Palace from May 9 through May 17, 1936. Shown here are the four poster stamps that were produced to promote the show. The exhibition took place during Postmaster General Farley's tenure.

Good on yer Mr.Tomisek !!

The item below is, so I am told, a proof block from the first issue of the Bay Ridge Stamp Society of Brooklyn, New York. There were a few labels and a few sheets issued in 1940 celebrating the Stamp Centenary and then nothing else. I have not been able to find out what happened to this Society and not much was written during it's existence. I have most of the other items and will show them when I am not so weary. They were/are the most costly of all USA Exhibition/Club items that I have acquired.

I hope that no one minds my repeating myself so that the blocked Photobucket images could be replaced. Wink

This set of four, depicting a ship, The Arbella, and the Massachusetts State House, were issued for the American Philatelic Society's National Philatelic Exhibition and annual convention held in Boston August 11-16, 1930.  The stamps were printed by the McKenzie Engraving Co., Boston.

These bi-color poster stamps depicting the Brooklyn Bridge were issued for the Brooklyn and Long Island Stamp Exhibition Association's third Annual Stamp Exhibition. The exhibition was held in conjunction with the centennial celebration of the chartering of the city of Brooklyn, New York which occurred on April 7, 1834. The exhibition was conducted in Brooklyn April 5-8, 1934.

This set of four was engraved/printed by the American Banknote Company for the Centenary International Philatelic Exhibition held in New York, New York, May 17-25, 1947. Portrayed on the stamps, from left to right are: Dom Pedro, ruler of Brazil when the first Brazil stamp was issued in 1843; Queen Victoria, monarch of Great Britain when the first stamp was issued in 1840; and, James K. Polk, President of the United States in 1847 when the first U.S. stamp was issued. Below Queen Victoria is the Coat of arms of Switzerland, the only other country to issue stamps before the United States.

Here are two additional poster stamps related to this exhibition:
