. . . I built one the year it was published. Took an age but was well worth it.
I was an experienced modeller though not with paper or card. In the main the instructions worked well - given who designed it. Wink
It is still intact, on it's base with trees and river. And rooks flying around the ToA. Honest.

Come on Peter - let's see the photos, and while you are about it, send Strapper to work his magic on Alan and get him to answer the other questions here about the UU book. I have tried and tried, but you seem to have the knack...   right?!

. . . I would like to comment upon the River Ankh which passes by the University.
According to The New Discworld Companion, "This mighty river flows from the Ramtops down to the Circle Sea, passing through the great city of Ankh-Morpork, by which time it is tidal and very sluggish. Even before it enters Ankh-Morpork it is slow and heavy with the silt of the plains, by the time it gets to the seaward side of the city, even an agnostic could walk across it. The citizens of Ankh-Morpork are strangely proud of this fact. They say that  it is hard to drown in the Ankh, but easy to suffocate."

Thus, I defend my decision to leave that area of the model base brown.

The Ankh looks a bit runny to me.  Could you have concreted it perhaps (with detritus embedded into it) to get that essential Ankh-ness?

The birds are great.  A real touch of class on a stunning model.

I have a spare copy of the book if anyone feels they need to make one and can do better than Peter!

I see Alan hasn't been able to answer my UU queries, perhaps I shouldn't have said I was putting it all away again until I had more time...

Those finished  UUs are terrific. And Peter's especially, though I was almost disappointed not to see a falling man...  How much would you charge to make one Peter?  The UU not the falling man, I mean.

I WILL get it finished though (by myself, although the idea of UU parties suddenly popped into my head!) and will post here when I do!

If you have deep pockets you could try asking Alan himself. PM him, I am sure you will get a reply next time he logs in.  He can definitely beat 800 hours!
