ASK ME ABOUT CINDERELLA STAMPS

Hi everybody, I found this great link by accident while 'playing' and really enjoyed seeing the superb creations listed, what a cool site!
I have several MUCH MUCH humbler efforts that perhaps someone may be interested in seeing and wondered how I go about uploading them on to the site?
Thanks in advance,
keegan

Hi

Glad you're on board.

First thing to do for displaying images is to have a place on a site that will host your images. This could be your own site, but most folk seem to use photobucket (www.photobucket.com) or flickr. Photobucket is free; all you need to do is create an account and follow the instructions.
I would suggest that for displaying on the forum you keep the image width to about 600 px wide or high. Massive images not only take some people ages to display, but as they are displayed full size you may have only part of the image displayed.

Once uploaded there copy the direct web address of the image. In photobucket this is on screen next to or below the image.
Type your message to the forum and when you get to the point where you want the image displayed either
a) click on the image icon in the menu bar above the text box. The icon looks like a tree. Paste the web address into the pop-up box, click OK and continue.
or b) type the open square bracket followed by img and close square bracket. The paste the web address. Then do the brackets again but with /img between them. I can't type it exactly here because it would be expecting an image address between the tags.

When you've finished just click Preview Post button below to see if its what you expected, and then Post Reply

Simple!

Steve, I think Keegan is asking how he should go about getting his own stamp designs included on the askmeaboutstamps website - there is only one person who can really answer that...

Hi Steve and Colin,
Thanks for your helpful comments. Especially the info you have given me Steve, I'll (try) and decipher the techy phrases and have a go, although I could probably get a teenager to do it in about 5 seconds!
Intruiged by Colins hint of a superior being who's name cannot be mentioned?
Maybe the light will shine on me and I'll get a message or even an invitation to contribute.

I cannot deny it.  I am the superior being whose name cannot be mentioned.  But you can call me Jehova.I can't help in the short-term Keegan.  I struggle to keep up to date with the issues I do try to cover (Colin/Alans, Steve's and Hilary's).  I am trying to find time at present to cover Hilary's "free" Pharos issues and I am also working on a little project to deal with the stamps/postal history of Wonderland, Snark and Alternative Lundy. So, for the time being I can only suggest that you have a go at what Steve suggests which will allow you to post the images on the Forum.  At least that will get them seen.Sorry I can't help but it turns out that, although I may be a superior being, I am not omnipotent.  I am disappointed in myself:( and I'm off out to hurl thunderbolts in a fit of pique.Keith

Hi Keith, thanks for your message and good to hear from you. I'm delighted you are not omnipotent, but I should imagine not as delighted as your wife.
Completely understand about your time restraints and will do as you suggest and get some stuff on the forum this weekend, although it is not in the same league as the erstwhile creators you have mentioned it may have a fleeting interest to people who just collect stamps from real islands.
