Lying deep in the Indian Ocean, the Prince Edward Archipelago consists of two islands, Prince Edward Island and Marion Island. These two islands have been South African research centres for many years and have strict control over population numbers. Several long-term research members approached Jonny Skyboss and asked if he would design a stamp for them. The proceeds of which would supplement their income for the control of un-natural pests such as as rats, mice and cats.

The stamp design is circular and measures roughly 2.6cm in diameter. The islands and co-ordinates are represented along with the legend curving along the right-hand side of the stamp. Postage and Revenue was added to the stamp as it was decided that they would be used not only for postage purposes but also on inter-island needs. The currency decided upon was the Kwagga, Afrikaans for Quagga, an extinct zebra species of Southern Africa.

The 'outer-ring' is the perforated area. First specimens, 1 kw to 50 kw:

Finally, the template for the kwagga values:

The higher values will appear shortly!

As promised, some higher values; 100 kwagga equals 1 Quagga however, so as to avoid confusion, they are commonly referred to as ks and Qs. That is, 1Q 20ks postage...

So as to make differentiating between ks and Qs easier, the island colours have been darkened on the higher Q values.

I really like these designs. Have you got anything else to show us in the year since these were listed here Jonny?
