Just after Terry Pratchett's "Nation" had been issued I was in Wincanton hoping to bump into Hilary (she was in hiding but that's another story).  Anyway, I spotted and bought this framed cover to Charles Darwin which was on sale.

I've never seen or heard of another one.  Can anyone throw any light?  Like how many are there out there?  Is it worth enough that I could buy my own South Sea island if I sold it?

This is an example of the original British Empire stamp that is the basis for the design.

The cover looks to be in a similar wall box to the "Cabinet of Curiosity" items. I believe very few were made.

I have one as well, which I think was the last one they had available for sale iirc. It's confused a few people who've visited us and seen it and thought it was genuine! LOL

Perhaps, if we clubbed together and sold both of ours, we could afford to buy a South Sea island jointly but I hope you agree that there's only one we could possibly try for, don't you think? Wink

What were these 'Cabinet of Curiosity' items?

The Darwin cover as far as I remember was a limited edition, and only available framed. It was only avalable from the shop as they didn't want broken glass ending up in the post.
