Can you tell me the reasoning behind your choice of denomination and colours for each of the stamps please?

Are they intended to correspond with any another postal service such as the Royal Mail?

Surely this thread should be in the Market Place?

These are not 'REAL' stamps

And its clearly a Sales Post, asking people to purchase!!!!

Thanks for taking an interest. The colours and denomination are random and these Cinderella stamps have no links to the Royal Mail; they are just Cinderella Stamps.

During this year I have produced 'standard' sets of stamps, a Smiler sheet, a mini-sheet, Postcards and now the Definitives; all to just test the market and see what peoples collection preference is.

Thanks again,
Martin

Possibly, this is the only the second time I have posted here, I'll try and figure out how to move the thread to the Market Place.

And, of course, these are just Cinderella Stamps and not real as you state and have nothing to do with the Royal Mail. Thanks for replying. Have a good day.

Martin

'Just' Cinderella stamps?  LOL

I think the reason Ken J has asked what the point of the denominations and colours was, is that, should a member visit Anglesey, we could send ourselves a postcard or letter where the value of our Anglesey stamps matched the Royal mail equivalent (with the correct RoyalMail postage attached too, of course) and we could then get a cancelled example of both Royal Mail and Anglesey stamps on the same piece.

A random selection of postal values works too, just not as sweetly.

Were your subject matter a fantasy world of course it wouldn't matter what your currency or denomination was, or whether the colours matched or complimented the equivalent RM version, but as you have chosen to base your stamps in the modern-day UK, I hoped that they would somehow work alongside existing 'real' stamps. As do the issues of Lundy for example.

By posting your stamps in the 'NEW' section of the forum you have inadvertently lifted the expectation of what your cinderellas are intended to represent.

What was the inspiration and the story behind the artwork, Martin, what made you put pen to paper?

I am no designer, and wouldn't generally have a preference for colours, however through my work as a journalist I take an active interest in disability issues and my first thoughts when I saw these designs was that the Royal Mail potentially had a serious problem with partialy-sighted users being able to differentiate between the 1p value and the £1 value.  I am sure they would also struggle with the 50p and 60p values.

Just a thought, as you mention testing the market and that market would likely include those with colour perception and part-sight problems.

Done.  Wink

I began this forum as a place to discuss and share ALL cinderella stamps. It is my first forum and is not perfect BUT I will endeavour to make it the best available.

Any positive help appreciated!

Hi Martin

Well I like them!

I don't see why stamps should follow the colours or the denominations of the Royal mail stamps, that makes no sense at all.  When did we ever have 'rules' for these things?

Good luck with your sales Martin!  And happy birthday for yesterday too.
