And this might prove helpful too...
The 'Larger Full Stop' version is probabably too subtle for most collectors to have spotted before now - not unlike the 'More Open Door' Tower of Art sport - but it IS on the sheet, so I thought I'd flag it up. Rather unhelpfully, some of the other sports also have the larger full stop - somewhat confusing things! But once you get your eye 'in' it's an easy spot. Especially when you've got the original sheet artwork to refer to! .

Why haven't I seen this before?
There are so many Discworld-related articles here that are very helpful!
Would anyone mind if I made a small website and featured such nuggets of useful information from this forum? |

I don't think that would be possible (or fair?) without first getting permission from everyone who has contributed to these threads - pictures and comments.
Instead why don't you just contribute some Discworld threads of your own to the forum here? You can always use social media to drive people here to discuss and contribute - and you wouldn't have the ongoing costs of running a separate website. There are plenty of members here who would answer and contribute to any questions you may have, and you can be objective here without offending anyone involved in the current manufacture of the stamps. There are already several very good websites which cover Discworld stamps - Steve Tandy's is by far the best. There have been several others which have come and gone over the years. On a positive note, it is very nice to hear about interest in the early Discworld stamps. Thank you! |

Two very useful pictures in this thread.
Good to see they haven't been removed like happens in the Mixed Bag threads on this forum which also contain useful information :-(

Posts from the sales thread are automatically removed 30 days after posting, otherwise we would have an endless stream of sales adverts. I do ask members to start another thread if something interesting comes up during a sales post but this doesn't always happen. In meantime, if you have any questions about the early Discworld stamps you'd like answered... post them here and I will do my best to respond - or there are also many other collectors here just as capable of replying as I am. Or PM me. |

This might be useful at the moment These stamps can all be identified on the sheet example on the official SH 'Catalogue' page. Lots of people know the 'double' sport (wider brooch and inverted scrolls) exists, but it's never been officially recognised as an individual stamp - which is a pity when collectors might have had one tucked away in their albums. It is equally as rare as the other sports as the same number of sheets were split up when it went into circulation. |
