Here is a sheet of a Cinderella stamp depicting a mermaid blowing a conch shell and holding a model of Discobolus, the classical Greek statue of a discus thrower which was issued to commemorate the II Juegos Mediterraneos, The Second Mediterranean Games, held in Barcelona from 16th to 25th July 1955. There were 102 events across 19 sports and all of the participants were male. France came 1st, Italy 2nd and Spain 3rd.
