Hi, new to the forum and was wondering if anyone could help with some information regarding the Delandre vignettes. I have copies of two of the books by Charles Kiddle & Walter Schmidt Images of the Great War volume III ( Delandre Red Cross Vignettes 1914 - 1917 ) Cinderella stamp club handbook number 11 and also a copy of Images of the Great War volume IV ( Delandre vignettes other that Military and Red Cross 1914 - 1917 ) Cinderella stamp club handbook number 13 but would like to know what volume I would need that covers all the French Military Regiment vignettes and other countries vignettes or if anyone knows of any other sauce of information such as web sites or other publications. I have looked on the web site for the Cinderella stamp club but unable to find the information required. many thanks for any help or information, regards. Andy |

Hi Andy
I am an off-and-on collector of Delandres, mainly because I find them pleasing and seemingly endless. But unfortunately cannot help you. I may have said elsewhere that finances run to stamps or books, but not both. I prefer to just take pleasure from my modest collection. Have you tried Google Books? There is often a sample page, or summary. |

Hi Andy,
The 'Images of the Great War' series of books is the definitive work on Delandre. Volume I by Walter Schmidt covers Delandre's French Military Vignettes 1914-1917, Volume II, also by Walter Schmidt, covers Delandre's non-French Military Vignettes 1914-1917. I believe there was a volume V and VI as well. Until recently they were all available, some as reprints, from Charles Kidddle's posterstamps website but this now appears to be closed. Otherwise, they are difficult to obtain. Your best bet might be to go back to the Cinderella Stamp Club and contact Charles Kiddle who is listed as Vice-President. Good Luck, Daniel
