The Royal Visit of 1939, 17th May to 15th June
Here is an almost complete sheet (just missing some selvedge at the bottom) for the Royal Visit to Canada in 1939 by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. Although depicted on the sheet, the young Princesses did not attend. Every province of Canada was visited plus the Dominium of Newfoundland (not at that point part of Canada) and the United States. It was a very successful tour at an important point in history, with world war looming. Canadian Prime Minister Mackenzie King accompanying the royal couple throughout the visit. Here's another sheet for the Royal Visit of 1939 issued by Canadian/American whisky makers Seagram's. Showing monarchs and their spouses, where applicable, going back to George I. Sadly, no room for Wallis. But a nice idea.

RHEOSTATICS
Rheostatics are a Canadian indie rock band who formed in 1978 and toured form 1980 to 2007, when they broke up. Described as one of Canada's most influential and unconventional rock bands. They reformed in 2016. The line-up has changed over the years and these stamps include long-time producer Michael Phillip Wojewoda and so, dates them to between 2001 and 2007. More specifically, their 2004 album, called 2067, depicts another Rheostatics stamp on the front. So, possibly from that time. That album is described as a concept album for the 200th anniversary of the Canadian Federation! The band members shown are Tim Vesely, Dave Bidini, Michael Phillip Wojewoda and Martin Tielli. Two Canadada artistamps on piece sent through the post with two Canadian postage stamps. If I'm reading the date correctly, 100902 is 2nd September 2010. The Leonhard Frank Duch Elvis Presley stamp is outstanding. Duch was born in Berlin in 1940 but his family emigrated to Brazil in 1951. He studied art and journalism and was active in the Mail Art scene from 1975 to 1994 when he moved back to Berlin. I have no information on the other Canadada stamp.

A nice selection of Newfoundland Airship Company stamps. These are modern, 21st century, Cinderellas produced by someone, unknown, in Cambridge, Massachusetts with connections to Newfoundland.

Two fantasy items from the Newfoundland Airship Company producers of Newfoundland and Labrador Cinderellas which probably originate from someone in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA with Canadian connections. They both have Canadian postage stamps and postmarks.
Firstly, an airmail cover, with a Labrador address but marked for return to an address in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. Multiple Labrador fantasy stamps, front and back. Postmarked 11th November 2010. Secondly, a postcard/boarding pass, dated August 2009, sent to Kat Halloran, Airship Pilot, Whale's Brook Aerodrome, Brownsdale, Newfoundland. Postmarked Deadmans Bay, NL. I can't trace this aerodrome but the postcode exists. Scan_20210416 (2) by Daniel, on Flickr Scan_20210416 (3) by Daniel, on Flickr |

These stamps came with cards produced by O-Pee-Chee, Canada under license from Topps for their 1961 Hockey card series. Each pack would contain 4 cards, a stick of gum and a joined pair of stamps with selvedge, these pairs are known as panels. There were 52 stamps to collect featuring Canadian and American hockey players. The stamps being zig zag serrated. They are highly collectible with sports card collectors.
