Another new cinderella land to add a page or three in your album for:
The Principality of Thanatos. Thanatos 2018 20th Anniversary of Independence set, in the minisheet format they were issued in. The Principality of Thanatos, a small isle off the British coast, celebrates its 20th anniversary of independence in 2018, and to mark this historic event, this beautiful set of four stamps was issued. The designs each show the ruler, HRH Prince Michael Damian the first, and 50p ... Passion flower, the national flower. £1 ... Badger, the national animal. £1.50 ... Aerial view of the island. £4 ... the painting "A Dream of Spring" (1901) by William-Adolphe Bouguereau. ======================
Prince Michael Damian intends this set to remain in use as the definitive stamps of the island for the foreseeable future. Folks interested in acquiring stamps and covers from Thanatos could contact the Prince at 1 Arbor Court, Abingdon Road, Leicester LE2 1HA, England. Apparently, the Prince is amenable to exchanging his stamps for other mint sets. Make him an offer. |

Speaking of Thanatos, I have just completed one of the
most challenging print jobs I have EVER done, on an Adana press. It
is a registered mail label, so quite small. The client requested that
the name of his town, Tyrsby City, should have a diaerisis accent (2 dots) over the first Y in the 10 point Tyrsby.
I don't have ANY accented letters among my fonts at all, so considered getting a polymer plate made for this. But finally, I just printed the name, then ran them through the press a second time and printed a colon on its side in the correct location. A rather tricky make-ready to do that one! I hope I don't get asked for cedillas next! That would be trickier! Front cover of the booklet of Registered mail labels, Tyrsby City. Registered mail label for Tyrsby City, Thanatos. |

Another gem from
The Principality of Thanatos. Thanatos 2018 50th Anniversary of Independence of the Sultanate of Occussi-Ambeno. The Principality of Thanatos issued this set on 8th April 2018, to mark this historic event for their good friend and ally, Occussi-Ambeno. The issue date was Occussi-Ambeno's independence day. ======================

Thanatos, Scotland 2019 The Thanatos Guard commemoration. His Royal Highness, Prince Michael Damian the first, has announced that the Principality of Thanatos will issue a single £2.50 stamp celebrating the Thanatos Guard, our Ministry of Defence who keep us safe in our homes and crofts in our small island.
"The Guard is an important institution. Without them, we could become over-run with tourists and philatelists seeking to buy up everything available in our general stores and post office," said His Royal Highness. "Therefore it gives Us much pleasure to introduce this stamp, showing the Guard on parade, so that our happy citizens at last have a chance to have photos of these brave and gallant defenders of our land on their letters and parcels," he concluded. .·:*¨¨*:·..·:*¨¨*:·..·:*¨¨*:·..·:*¨¨*:·. .·:*¨¨*:·..·:*¨¨*:·..·:*¨¨*:·. |

I got a nice package from the Prince of Thanatos recently, and
after a merry scribble over the nice GB stamps, evil Mister Pen also
proceeded to scribble over the Thanatos stamps at the foot, despite the fact that they were already datestamped!
I guess this proves that it is truly an anti-philately campaign, not just trying to "cancel" stamps. |

I don't know about the "illegal" aspect, as UK has different laws to us (thankfully!). But it is certainly unethical to pen-scribble. And the evil Mister Pen should (imho) be burnt at the stake for her/his crimes of scribbling on those GB stamps! A nice Thanatos cover, fortunately un-noticed by the evil Mister Pen.
