Here is an entrance ticket, both front and back, shown here enlarged: There were multiple Cinderellas produced, perhaps, the best known being The National Pavilions series. This series, in itself, was complex. There were 40 designs plus 7 major variations, making a total of 47 stamps to collect. However, they were produced over 6 large sheets and in multiple colours. In order to make any kind of sense of these issues, you really do need to have Charles Kiddles' catalogue. This is half of sheet 3 and consists of 20 different stamps repeated every 2 columns: |

As you can see, this part sheet isn't in great condition and is in danger of separating. Here is, I hope, a close-up of the 20 different stamps:
To simplify matters, here is the broad make-up of each sheet, insofar as different stamps are concerned: Sheet 1, 20 different stamps Sheet 2, 20 different stamps including 6 new ones Sheet 3, 20 different stamps including 4 new ones Sheet 4, 29 different stamps including 7 new ones Sheet 5, 10 different stamps, all new and Sheet 6, 10 different stamps as sheet 5 but in a different layout, so, no new ones Making a total of 47 designs. No complete sheets are known to exist. These were printed by Emission Baguet. Other, similar stamps, were produced by other printers! You can see, therefore, how difficult it can be just to make up a complete set without even taking into account the different colours. |

This picture show the size of the entrance ticket to scale and give examples of the variants that I have mentioned.
In the first pair of stamps for Sweden, the image of King Oscar is replaced by an image of 3 crowns. For the second pair of stamps, the same design is used for Transvaal and South Africa.

I've, just this minute, noticed another variant not listed in the catalogue but apparent if you look for it. The Camdodia Pavilion stamp from sheet 1 has scrolling left and right around the words 'Exposition Universelle'. The sheet 3 version doesn't have this scrolling. This brings the total number of stamps to 48!

Here are a couple of other sets produced for Paris 1900. The block of 6 was also available in other colours.

I suspect that each pavillion at this fair had its own souvenier stamps printed and issued. Here is my block of six but in a different colour to those above.
But it wasn't just different colours, but also shades and papers. A full collection would make a mighty impressive album collection, but it looks like it would cost you an arm and a leg to get anywhere near completion. If you have some examples of other stamps from this exhibition please post them here. |

Wonderful stuff - that must have been a fantastic time to be alive.
These designs make quite a contrast to the stamps shown earlier for the same event.

Vieux Paris - Old Paris. Paris Exposition 1900
These two sheets, part of a set of five, from Emission Robida. They each have a single watermark reading RIVES. They are described in Charles Kiddle's catalogue 'The Paris Universal Exposition 1900' as '(Paris) Coat of Arms with the head of a woman above with a medieval hat' in violet and 'Woman looking at at an engraving' in blue. Complete sheets must be relatively rare. |

Did you not watch Paris Police 1900 TV series? Described as violent, harrowing and complex. No mention of the exhibition as far as I can recall. But I agree on your comments regarding the stamps. They missed a trick for the Great Exhibition of 1851. |
