A few more of these beauties.

I see these for sale frequently, but prices vary wildly. I do not think that the eBay starting or Buy Now price is as much a reflection on the rarity of any particular stamp, but more what the seller hopes to get for it. So patience will win out, because more afforadable ones will turn up.

Ideally I would like to classify what I have in my collection, which does grow slowly, but when the price of the reference books means a choice between the books and the stamps, then the stamps win hands down.

Steve, don't you ever worry that by sharing your collecting habits here you are increasing the odds that someone here will outbid you on eBay and other sites? These are such colourful and detailed stamps that I am certain I will not be the only one looking out for them now, sorry!

By way of returning the favour, is there a single stamp or a favourite genre that has so far eluded you that I could look out for you?

No problems. I have a good selection of these in my collection, and can see no way I will ever complete anything. So competition and oubidding will just curb any obsession and spending. Be nice if others enjoyed these too.
As for your offer, just keep a lookout for those sunday school albums beyond ebay. :)

Are there fakes of Delandre's fakes?

He has a recognisable style and it would be easy to mock up, although expensive to print  considering the number of colurs and metallic inks used?

Did Delandre have his own printing press I wonder?

Ironically while there is a cerain style that says 'Delandre' even at first glance, no two stamps seem to share a design. He used a lot of different artists and mush of the text seems invented for the stamp rather than a stock typeface.
So it would be possible to fake these with a totally new design and they would sit comfortably with any 'real' ones. Just get the paper, inks and perforations correct.

A few more added to my collection. They will look nice when I get round to putting them on an album page.

And more.

I am not sure whether all these are genuine Delandres. There's some British regiments and some rather exotic ones here too, so did Deleandre extend his output beyond France? A good online reference would be useful.
