Norway 1943 Leather Revenue 8 Kr LA-14 Seldom seen, these are listed in the Wang and Brofos-Nelson catalogs of Norway Revenue Stamps. Norway Revenue Stamp Leather Stamps During the German occupation of Norway during World War II, leather was scarce and had to be rationed. Leather tax stamps were issued in 1943 and were in use for a few months until the supply of leather ran out. In October 1945, a leather supply was obtained and the Leather Administration of the Commerce Department issued these stamps which were in use until July 1946. These stamps have a different design from the 1943 series and are inscribed Laerkontoret instead of Laerstyre. The stamps were used on wholesale invoices and were printed in sheets of 100. Because of the short duration of use, these stamps are very scarce. Edited by ambrofos - 06 May 2010 at 14:50 |

Those typefaces are beautiful.
The whole stamp is perfectly proportioned and hand-drawn too. Wonderful.
