Hi, Has anybody any spare or unwanted copies of this interesting series of issues from the British Maze Society. I've collected all I can over the years but haven't seen any for sale for ages. My interest was rekindled when I got hold of a catalogue of all their issues and you know what than can do to a bloke. If anyone can help please get in touch, cheers

Hi Keegan

These stamps intrigue me! Is there any chance you could post up some pictures under 'cinderella stamps'?

And if I find any I can then give you my doubles  Big smile

Hi Tim,
I'd love to but, sadly, I've only ever managed to upload one photo to this website ever!
That's the main reason I can't/don't really engage with the site, either my server doesn't synchronise with the settings here or I'm too thick to do it.
I must say these stamps are really clever and they are superbly designed with enough varieties to make them REALLY interesting.
They produced a comprehensive catalogue showing all the design and issue details which makes collecting them (in theory) straightforward.
Sorry, but unless this site offers a simpler way to add pictures I'm unable to share the joy.
Good hunting

Keegan, why not send your scans to Colin and he will post them up for you.

I am sure he has done this for other members in the past and the stamps sound well worth seeing.

Don't give up! Share the joy  :-)

Hi Nigel - Yes! Absolutely no problem to get your pictures up here. You can send me scans (PM me for email address) and I will send you back the code for each picture, or write your text and let me know where the pictures fall and I will drop them in using mt 'Admin' hat.

I would much rather spend a little time getting lots of interesting pictures here than find out someone was unhappy about the process.

I admit it is not just a qusetion of clicking and editing but it gets easier once you get the hang of it.  There is no simpler way available to this forum - unless someone here knows better!

Like you say - Share the Joy!!!

Colin you should open up your offer of posting pictures of stamps to everyone on the forum.

I have seen on other threads that other designers and collectors also find it too difficult to use Photo-hosting in order to put their pictures on here. And you have the problem that when certain individuals throw theirtoys out of their prams and decide to leave the forum we are left with big gaps where their pictures used to be. This not only looks awful to the remaining members but puts new people off joining.

Is there another way we can get good quality pictures onto the forum?

Stamp collecting is a pictorial subject. There are plenty of complaints on the forum about the reproduction quality of the pictures in the Cinderella Stamps Club newsletter but I think we should get our own house in order before criticising them. At least they have pictures.

The offer was - and is - open to every member. I know we all like to see pictures and if anyone is struggling PLEASE contact me and I wll do my best to help. I am certain there will be other members here who would be happy to help out in the same way.

There isn't much we can do about this apart from insist that all pictures placed on the forum are stored in an archive controlled by the forum admin - which brings with it all sorts of copyright and ownership problems.

The 'blank boxes' situation can also arise when a Picture Hosting company goes out of business or alters its accounts system so don't assume that because there are missing pictures it is because someone has left the forum. Wherever possible I have offered to help restore the missing pictures but this will take time.

I can't force members to post up pictures.  If every member posted up one picture a week the forum I am sure would look like a very different place! However,  I believe most people come to forums primarily to express themselves in writing rather than in pictures, and perhaps do not feel the need to post scans here. But it certainly makes for a more interesting forum when they do.

I thank the people here who regularly post pictures, particularly those who contribute whole threads of interesting issues - and add to them when new examples are found - as I think these posts and threads are a great resource and serve to encourage visitors and new members in a way that text-only threads do not. You are correct - it IS a pictorial subject and illustration definitely brings it to life.

The forum is what you make it - if members want more pictures then lead by example and put some of your own up. If you are struggling with photo-hosting then please get in touch with me via the PM system and I WILL help.

Hi, Just a quick note to tell you Colin has kindly uploaded some good information AND photographs of various Caerdrioa issues. You'll find all this fine info in the 'Cinderella Stamps' section of the forum. Enjoy !
